We are so thrilled to be welcoming Jared Newall to the team at Lisa Clark Dance Centre.
Jared has been singing and performing for over 20 years. Starting young in choral and music theatre work, he felt the pull to be on the stage; to be a singer.
In his 20s, he began tertiary studies at WAAPA, completing a Certificate II (Music Theatre), going on to perform in professional productions of Hair and Rent. Yearning for further study, he moved to Ballarat, where he attained a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre). In 2011, after further professional theatre experience, Jared joined the internationally renowned vocal group The Ten Tenors, with whom he has toured nationally and internationally for the past 8 years, performing for crowds of 60 thousand in concert, and 2 million viewers at the Melbourne Cup.
When not on tour, Jared performs as a corporate singer, as well as an acoustic musician, playing and singing with his guitar. Now, he also holds private singing lessons at LCDC!
Jared has joined the team at LCDC in mid 2019 when he relocated to Canberra with his fiancé (LCDC Assistant Director, Charlotte.)
With a fully custom, soundproof singing studio at the LCDC premises in Hume, this is the perfect opportunity for those students (already attending LCDC, their siblings, or new families!) to learn to sing!
“Jared has been amazing with my daughter. She can have a very shy personality. After her first session with Jared she has come out of her shell and her singing is starting to blossom. Her favourite day of the week is her singing lesson day. Jared has been amazing with her and works with her to pick the songs she loves and enjoys to sing. I now have my other daughter begging to do singing lessons! I look forward to next year to see where singing will take them!” – Emma

Whilst lessons will cater to individual student needs, some key points of focus in the lessons are:
Like any physical activity, students will benefit from regular lessons and a weekly focus on technique, repertoire and vocal health. The voice is a muscle that strengthens with regular training.
Private singing lessons run for 30 minutes, in accordance to the LCDC term dates unless otherwise arranged. Lessons will be available after school hours from 3:30pm + subject to demand. Currently, singing lessons are held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. For scheduling of private singing lessons, LCDC students are given priority spots that work around their dance timetable as best as can be arranged.
To ensure that teacher and student are the right “fit”, Jared would like to offer a trial lesson to those thinking about giving singing lessons a go. In this lesson, parents will be invited into the studio with their student to discuss goals, learning and teaching styles. Then students will work on a few quick exercises and a fun piece of repertoire. This trial lesson will be $30, payable in cash.
A single, 30-minute singing lesson is valued at $45.00, payable in cash.
Payment can be made either on a PAYG basis or by term (10 weeks). Payments made by term will receive a $25 discount.
Please note: Payments for signing lessons are managed directly between the parent/guardian and Jared.
If you’d like more information on singing lessons with Jared, please email him at info@jarednewall.com or alternatively via LCDC at info@lisaclarkdancecentre.com.au
